Here are the 8 characteristics of a Christian woman. Firstly we must try to keep the word of God with us at all times and live by His teachings. It is easy to become distracted by the world and what is going on within it.

We tend to set our own rules and give ourselves unrealistic expectations of what we need and want even when we know it doesn’t align with what God desires as Christian women.
Accept that we want a new way of life and live more intentionally in our walk with God.
Characteristics Of A Christian Woman Accepting God & Christian Faith
You are now a Christian. Don’t be worried about other people’s views and opinions, as you will never please everyone.
Choosing to be a Christian is a personal decision. It makes you no better than anyone else. You also shouldn’t feel the need to justify your choice to people who may belittle or mock your choice.
Just focus on being the best daughter, sister, wife, mother, or friend that you can be. Let God shine through this new you so others can see His greatness at work.
Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

Learning to put God first in your heart, mind, and life as a Christian woman can be difficult, to begin with, and even as you grow in spiritual maturity. He is the one with that we can draw our strength.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

We can then care for everyone that needs us, as our spirit is renewed. Society today implies that as women, we should want and have it all!
However, this puts so much pressure on us within our various roles that we must perform as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Everything pulls at our attention, and we believe that we have failed if we don’t attain all of these standards.
I would rather choose to follow the path and purpose that God gives me.
He has a set purpose and plans for you and me. Don’t be scared of finding your purpose if you want to be a homemaker, a businesswoman, a teacher, a scientist, an engineer, or anything else.
God gives us all a different gift or talent for a purpose. Women often refer to themselves as just a mother. I know I have!
We overlook ourselves and the work that we do and give it no value. It should be valued in high regard.
Don’t belittle your role as a woman of God! You have eminence value and purpose. You have the ultimate career!
How To Find Your Purpose As A Christian Woman
The homemaker has the ultimate career. All other careers exist for one purpose only – and that is to support the ultimate career.

As women, we often refer to ourselves as just a mother, just a wife? We overlook our everyday work, and we do not give value to it when we most definitely should be doing the opposite.
God created us for an awesome purpose, and we should embrace this and the wonderful gifts that he has given us and put them to good use.
Characteristics Of A Christian Woman – Keeper Of The Home
As the old saying goes, Home is where the heart is!
So ask yourself:
- How does your home make you feel?
- How does it make others feel?
- What does your home say about you?
- What does your home say about your family?
Is it a welcoming and happy place? Does it feel warm and inviting where people want to gather and stay awhile?
God wants us to make our home a priority. To make it a safe place from the outside world. It’s where we spend time with our most important people and God too!
It’s where we eat and sleep. It offers shelter and protection to all inside.
So whether it is booking a coffee date with a friend, inviting a group for lunch, or hosting a dinner or event.
God views the hospitality of Christian women with a welcoming spirit in high regard. You don’t need a picture-perfect house but a Godly home.
It is the feeling your house gives to others that enter rather than the aesthetics of it.
We often worry that our home does not look as we want, so we would rather not invite others in. But we must remember that the feeling that our home gives to others makes it a special space to be.
Use hospitality one to another without grudging

We have the ability to create a special place to make connections with each other in our homes, whether it be with family mealtimes, movie nights, games evenings, playtime, or self-care.
We have the ability to change the world from the inside out by showing love to all that enter our homes.
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

Characteristics Of A Christian Woman – A Heart For Serving
This is one of my favorite things to do. I love serving others, especially in God’s house. It’s where I formed some of my best friendships and where I encountered some amazing moments in the Holy Spirit.
There are three main ways that you can serve.
- Others
- Those in need
- With good work
Serving isn’t something that always comes naturally to everyone, and we can also see it as degrading due to history. Being in service was seen as a lower-class task.
However, you can put your gift or talents to good use and start by using them to serve others. This may be with great hosting skills or a gift for making food, working well with children, or organization.
The task could include:
- Singing in the Choir or Church Worship Band
- Hosting and Refreshments
- Logistics and Church Security
- Children’s Church
- Food Bank
- Organizing Church Events or Groups
This can then open you up to other ways that you can serve your church too.
Personally, I love hosting and creating a special, warm, and inviting space for people to come in and meet with God.
I love serving refreshments, making the space clean and tidy for others, and taking pride in the area, I am responsible for. Talking with others and making connections.
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Galatians 5: 13-14
Because in the act of service, God may have sent someone to you that needs words of welcome, comfort, prayer, or just an ear to listen.
Please give it a go! It may be the best thing that you have ever tried.
Characteristics Of A Christian Woman – Always Be Thankful & Kind
Being thankful for what we have is always easy to do when everything is good, but we usually forget God.
When things don’t go our way, we tend to call out to the Lord or even blame Him for what happens.
The bible tells us over 114 times to give thanks to God in a variety of ways.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 kjv
As women, we are known for being emotional in tune with ourselves and others. We are also known to be more likely to bear a grudge or to hang on to our emotions because of this.
If we are to impact others, we must learn that kindness is one of the biggest tools we can use.
What does it mean to be thankful? Do you acknowledge your thanks to God? Do you note down what you are thankful for?
Once you can answer the above questions, you will begin to value what you have and what you receive from God more and more each day.
You will also see His work in action as He blesses you.
Embrace your life, count your blessings, and don’t complain about what you don’t have.

It is easy to be thankful when life is good, but it is much harder when life is upside down.
Keep a gratitude journal and write down at least five things that you are grateful for each day. This will make you more aware of how blessed you truly are by God.
If life is a bit more difficult, or you struggle with negative thoughts, and your mood is low, then keeping a gratitude journal can help you focus on more positive things and lift your spirits.
As things improve, you can see that God is listening to your prayers, and your life is changing for the better.
Characteristics Of A Christian Woman – Be Humble & Modest
In our Instagram and social media-fuelled culture, where everything is valued on outward appearance and labels, being Humble and modest is a rare quality to find.
It can also be hard to do when you still want to feel on trend with the world and others around you and what is classed as socially acceptable culture.
Say that it is much nicer to view the world through God’s eyes and see that not all of these things are necessary for us to be happy. Or we can see that all of these social media wannabees are actually extremely fragile and lost human beings wanting acceptance in the world.
On television shows now, especially for those wanting to find love and connection, it seems that they think the less they wear and the more they try to enhance their appearance, the more likely they are to find love.
My argument remains; If you have to do all of this to get someone’s attention, is it worth it, and do they see your heart and your inward spirit rather than just the outer packaging?
God prefers us to speak, act and dress with a modest spirit. We can still follow fashion and dress and express our character, but we respect the word of God and act accordingly as set out in Proverbs 31.
Being humble in spirit also means asking for forgiveness from God repeatedly and accepting God’s forgiveness.
He already knows all of our imperfections and the actions that we will take. Along with this comes forgiving others which can be much more difficult, but we have to remember that if God forgives us, then we must forgive others too.
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

Be helpful and do things for others, not for recognition and praise but because you can, and your work is for God’s glory. Where possible, be humble in your spirit; we can keep one another faithful by doing this.
Characteristics Of A Christian Woman – Be A Good Role Model
Just as I learned from my friends and pastors, it is all about becoming a disciple of Christ.
It teaches us that once we have learned ourselves, then we should go out and teach others.
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Titus 2:3-5 kjv
It is up to us to be a beacon to others and guide them when they request our help. To show them what a Christian really can be like.
Characteristics Of A Christian Woman – Act With Self Control, Be Submissive & Respectful
This is probably seen as a difficult trait to master, but I think a lot has to do with your perspective about what it means.
And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church.
He is the Saviour of his body, the church. As the church submits to Christ, so your wives should submit to your husbands in everything.
- Show respect to others serve with God in mind
- Be submissive and respectful to your husband as this is their greatest need.
But self-control is more than submitting to our husbands or elders. Self-control can also be:
- Controlling our temper when someone angers us
- Not Gossiping about others
- The ability to not be selfish, especially towards others
- Avoid being greedy with time, food, possessions, and so on
It’s about developing habits and strategies to help with our self-control and finding what triggers or behaviors to learn to avoid.
Whether this is for anger – you could count to 10 or leave the space until you feel calmer.
Weightloss – learning to develop a new attitude towards foods, eating habits, and fitness.
Trying to be thoughtful instead of thoughtless towards others and their needs.
Characteristics Of A Christian Woman – Finding Community & A Place To Worship
Lastly, finding a place to worship and spend time with God and other Christians will really help you feel part of something bigger.
Interacting and learning from other like-minded people will aid your development and your Christian maturity in the faith. As well as giving you access to other courses, resources, and events.
It will help you find a community of women to join and a place to serve, and also to place to share your talents or gift.

Worshiping in God’s house and feeling the presents of the Holy Spirit is an amazing experience.
If you are not close to a church location, you can follow sermons, bible studies, and more online or through certain church groups.
Whatever you decide, find a warm, inviting church and somewhere that you feel comfortable going through the door.
A church should feel like a safe place with lots of friendly smiles and welcoming gestures.
You can also watch or listen to praise and worship. This is the way that I first felt that I connected with God through singing the word. I found real freedom through song and the act of singing to God.
