This post will help you learn how to make a vision board as a Christian woman to plan your future goals with god.

How to make a vision board is one of my favorite things to do. It is a straightforward and fun task to do. It will focus your mind on what you actually want to achieve with the items you choose to display on your board.

A vision board is just a creative expression of your hopes, dreams, and goals that you would like to achieve.

It sets out your path for growth and transformation within your life, business, family, health, or any other area that you wish to focus on.

You can set your boards out in a picture and word format to give you a visual focus. This is the first vision board that I created.

From my own experience in creating and using a vision board, it is a great opportunity to focus on what you really want from life and not just what you think you should have because everyone else does. It gives you confidence in who you are and what you want.

The Four Secrets To Why A Vision Board Works

Secret 1 – Refine Your Goals

Firstly you need to get all your ideas down on a piece of paper. It is all about you!

What makes you happy? What do you want to achieve? What lifestyle do you want to live? What car do you want to drive? Where in the world do you want to go, and with who?

Are there specific things that you would like to have or skills that you would like to learn? Is there a sport or hobby that you would like to be better at or do regularly?

This exercise is not about what someone else wants for you or what they think you need to be happy.

God gives us all a unique gift or talent. He also gives us a unique dream for the lifestyle that we wish to achieve. Don’t be afraid of yours, rather find a way to achieve it.

Secret 2 – Find Inspiration

Now look for images that fit with what your vision looks like. You can find inspiration from the following:

  • Magazines
  • Catalogs
  • Brochures
  • Stickers
  • Wallpaper
  • Wrapping Paper
  • Postcards
  • Fabric
  • Maps
  • Pinterest Printouts
  • Printed Words
  • Gift Tags or Clothing Labels
  • Photos

The list of places to look is endless and will differ for each individual’s dream.

Secret 3 – Map Out Your Board

Now for the fun bit. You can start to create your board. Cut out any images that need cutting to fit your board or layout.

Next, arrange the images in a way that you find pleasing. I personally like a focal point in the middle with my ideas then filling the outer space. However, it really comes down to personal choice and what you like.

To display your finished item, you can pin it up on the fridge or in a place where you will often see it. Or you can frame your vision board in a frame and display it in a great place where you can see it. Like above your desk or in your kitchen or bedroom, whatever works for you.

Your board doesn’t just have to be put into a picture frame. You can set it as a screen saver on your computer, have it on your iPad or tablet, and you can even have it set on your phone. Giving you even more ways to stay focused on your dreams and goals!

Secret 4 – Give Life To It

Now you need to give life to the vision that God has given you. Pray over the things that you would like to achieve, the goals that you have set yourself.

Put some faith in it too. Believe that if this is what God is showing you, then He wants for you.

Work hard at it every day for you and God’s glory. God will then, in time, place His grace upon it. God can take us to places above and beyond our hopes and dreams.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the LORD, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the LORD as a reward. It is the LORD Christ you are serving.

What I Learnt From My Vision Board

I loved making my vision board; it was such a fun task, allowing me to be creative. By focusing my mind on what I actually wanted for myself, my family, my home, and my lifestyle. It gave me something to aim for and to set goals that I thought before I may not achieve.

Evaluating where I was in my life and where I wanted to go next. What my passions are and how I wanted to spend my time. This focused me on what I placed value in and what was important to me.

It made me focus on how to achieve what I had on my board? The course I wanted to take that I thought was expensive? I took it! The blog I wanted to start? Here it is. You are reading it now! The house I thought I would never own? I have the funds for a deposit! And the list goes on.

The Bible says…….

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Hebrews 11:1

I prayed over all of these things time and time again. I put my trust and faith in God to make it happen, and He did. So what’s next, I hear you say? Well, you make another board with all the new ideas and goals that God gives you next.

This is an ongoing process of development and transformation. See more on 8 Characteristics Of A Christian Woman?

Each time God sees you being faithful, he will reward us in some way. He will show that He sees our efforts and hard work.

As we build a relationship with the Lord and our trust grows, we know that all things are possible with God.

Share your vision boards with me over on Facebook or Instagram. I would love to see them and know as you achieve the things you put on your boards.
