Ingredients Required To Make Portobello Mushrooms On Soda Bread Toast
- Mushrooms
- Red Onion
- Garlic
- Plain Yoghurt
- Fresh Thyme
- Lemon
- Soda Bread
How To Make Portobello Mushrooms On Soda Bread Toast
First, start by heating the oil and butter in the pan. Next, add the onions and garlic and cook for a few minutes until they are softened.

Add the chopped mushrooms to the pan and stir for 5 minutes or until cooked and no liquid is left in the frying pan.In a small bowl mix the yogurt, lemon zest, and thyme together.

Remove the mushrooms from the heat and stir in the yogurt mixture until the mushrooms are fully coated. Slice 4 pieces of sourdough bread and toast.

Top with the mushroom mixture and salt, pepper, and some more fresh thyme. It is then time to tuck in and enjoy.
Other Good Breakfast Ideas
You could add some spinach to the mushroom mixture and a poached egg for added variety. This mixture could also be used over pasta or served as a side dish with a pan-fried piece of steak or chicken.

- Slice 8 pieces of soda bread and toast. Butter toast if required when ready.

Notes
- If you don’t have Portobello Mushrooms then it will work just as well with other types of mushrooms such as Chestnut Mushrooms, Open Cup Mushrooms & Button Mushrooms but there are many other types you could try too.
